For a least several years, Brexit has occupied a significant part of the time of political decision-makers. It was also a source of concern for many citizens. This is why those who in some way took part in it are witnesses to history and should tell the story, document it, or describe it from their vantage point. and this why this book come into being. It contains essays based on my public appearances during the period 2016-2020, whitch touched on issues connect with Brexit, either directly or indirectly. Thesespeeches were given in response to request from individuals and those representing very diffrent stakeholder groups affected to Brexit, who wanted to talk to me about their concerns and expected me to listen to them, to understand their fears, and to explain this constant state of uncwrtainty. I held almost five hunderd of such meetings. It is undoubtedly a documentary type of work. At the same time, however, it is a personal record of how I perceived the essence of Brexit and its dimensions: global, individual, economic, political and institutional, as well as its consequences for the future of Europe and the world.
